Open File Explorer (or Windows Explorer if you’re a Windows 7 user) click or tap the File Explorer icon on the taskbar. The notebook is not permanently gone until you empty the Recycle Bin. When you delete a locally stored notebook in File Explorer, it’s removed to the Windows Recycle Bin, where all deleted files and folders go. You can delete a notebook you keep stored on your computer using Windows File Explorer. Any items in the notebook aren’t recoverable once you delete the notebook from the Recycle Bin. When you delete a notebook, it’s moved to the Recycle Bin where you can permanently remove it. If the notebook is in the cloud, you can log on to your OneDrive account to delete the file. Mac users can use Finder to remove the notebook. Instead, you must use File Explorer (or Windows Explorer for Windows 7 users) to remove a notebook. You won’t find a Delete command to use in OneNote.
